The Mice Cube is a moulded plastic live catch mouse trap with a door that is free swinging in an inward direction only. Small holes in the door allow the odour of the bait to escape to attract the mouse. The mouse enters by pushing the light weight door inward, which then closes by gravity, preventing escape.
To bait the trap spread peanut butter on a cracker and place it at the far end of the trap opposite the door. To help attract mice spread a very thin layer of peanut butter on the swinging door – wipe off any excess so that the peanut scent remains and the door swings freely.
Place the trap along the wall or in an area where mouse droppings are prevalent.
To release the mouse take the mice cube outside and turn the trap upside down. The door will open and the mouse can exit.
If the mouse has expired in the trap, you can dispose of it in a rubbish bin without needing to touch the mouse.
Now it's time to go for a walk or a drive and be kind to your furry little friends by finding a safe place to release them. A bush area is ideal. We recommend at least 1km away from your house so the mice can't find their way back. Turn the trap upside down and the mouse can run out.
Mice will eat almost anything including cardboard, so food in the trap should work perfectly. However, if you have another food source that is more attractive or easier to get to, the mice may not be attracted to the trap. Identify the food source and take that source away. Then place some of that food in the trap in same location (if possible) so when the mice next visit the food will there, but now in the trap.
